General Information
The 2010 LSBA Convention in Monroe, Louisiana will begin on Thursday, March 4, with registration opening at 8:00 a.m. Convention registration will be held in the Monroe Civic Center, 401 Lea Joyner Expressway.
This year’s registration fee for board members, superintendents, assistant superintendents, school board attorneys and all other school personnel will be $275.00 which will include the General Luncheon and President’s Reception and Dinner on Friday. Spouses and other guests will be charged a fee of $100.00 which includes the same functions as school board members. However, if you do not register by February 12, 2010, the registration fee for board members, etc. will be $300.00 and spouse/guest registration will be $125.00.
Thursday evening we will host "A Little Lagniappe; a little something extra”, showcasing our exhibitors in the Arena of the Monroe Civic Center. Any other arrangements will need to be made by each individual for Thursday night.
You have two (2) options for pre-registering, either online or by using the enclosed form. If you choose to register online, log on to the LSBA website (www.lsba.com) then link to LSBA Convention and follow the instructions. Should you elect to register online, we must receive payment before the registration process is complete. If you choose to use the enclosed registration form, please fill out and return to the LSBA office no later than February 12, 2010. (If you register online, please do not return the enclosed registration form). Checks for payment of all registration are to be made payable to the Louisiana School Boards Association. http://www.lsba.com/Each pre-registrant will be sent a pre-registration stub, a letter of instruction, and a schedule of events mailed to the school board office. Registration received after February 12, will be processed but not acknowledged.
All written cancellations received in the Louisiana School Boards Association office through February 12, 2010, will be 60% refunded. This means that if a school board member cancels his/her pre-registration on or before February 12, the refund will be $165. Under the same conditions the guest/spouse refund will be $60. Refunds cannot be made for cancellations that are received in the Louisiana School Boards Association office after February 12, 2010. Cancellations by telephone are not acceptable. All cancellations must be in writing and sent by mail or fax and received in the LSBA office no later than February 12, 2010. The fax number is 225/769-6108.
The above policy is necessary due to the many costs that must be guaranteed well in advance of the Convention. Your cooperation in this important matter is appreciated.
