Lloyd C. Dressel 

 

A native of Morgan City, Lloyd is a retired superintendent of the St. Mary Parish Public School System. He served 38 years in positions that ranged from classroom teacher, principal, supervisor and assistant. superintendent..

 

He has served as State President of Louisiana Association of School Executives (LASE), State President of Louisiana Council for Social Studies (LCSS), and as State President of Louisiana Association of School Superintendents-Retired. He also serves as a Trustee of Louisiana School Board’s Insurance Trust (LSBIT).

 

His education includes a B.S. in business administration, an MEd in school administration and an EdS in school administration from Nicholls State University.

 

Among Lloyd’s recognitions for leadership were his election as Student Government Association Treasurer by Nicholls State student body, 1966; selection to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1964-65 and again in 1965-66; and his induction into the Nicholls State University Graduate Hall of Fame in 1978.

 

A former reading teacher, Lloyd keeps abreast of educational trends and enjoys Ballroom Dancing.
