Don Whittinghill
Editorial and Research Consultant


LSBA consultant since 2000, is responsible for production of the quarterly journal, The Louisiana Boardmember, for editorial content of the LSBA web site, and for research on issues important to the LSBA advocacy program.  He also develops the curriculum for the Trailblazer series of professional development seminars for LSBA.
 
His background includes work as a reporter for the Times-Picayune, editor in chief of the Tulane University student newspaper (The Hullabaloo), assignment as advertising and promotion director for the Louisiana Department of Commerce (later Deputy Secretary of that agency), executive secretary of the Louisiana Board of Nuclear Energy, staff director of the Joint Legislative Committee on Environmental Quality, and various sales and general management positions in the oil refining/petrochemical engineering and construction industry.
 
After earning a B.A. (1957) from Tulane, he served 17 years in state government and 22 years in the hydrocarbon processing services industry. Don's activities earned postings to Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, and Who's Who in American Government.
 
He served as Senior Information Specialist in the U.S.A.F. during the Korean War, and was graduated from the U.S. Department of Defense Information Academy in 1951.
